A whole slew of lucky geniuses just won the MacArthur, including Yiyun Li! 37 years old, a graduate of the Iowa Writer's Workshop, a short-story writer and novelist, and an assistant professor at UC-Davis, Li is now the proud recipient of $500,000 in "no strings" support over the next 5 years.
Can you just imagine getting that phone call?! Whew. What a day of celebration this must be for her.
